Scholarship Details

       NASA Scholarship Guidelines

The NASA Board of Directors is happy to introduce to our NASA player membership the NASA Scholarship Fund.  Criteria and guidelines are outlined below.  Forms can also be downloaded off the NASA website:  www.nasahockey.com.

Awards will be determined annually by the NASA Board of Directors to a maximum allocation of $2000.00 per year

·         1 Award in the amount of $1000 to be offered to full time post secondary students

·         2 Awards in the amount of $500 to be offered to part time post secondary students

A second $1000 scholarship will be added for 2010 recipients, generously donated by Mike Green at the NASA BBQ.  
 

Scholarships to be awarded once per year and the successful applicant must attend the year end Volunteer Appreciation event to receive the award.

All cheques will be made payable to the post secondary institution and not the recipient.  Recipients have until Dec 31^st of the year that is 3 years from the awards date to use the funds.

Eligibility:

·         Must have played minimum 1 full season registered as a NASA member.

·         Applicants must apply within 3 years of High School Graduation or final year of Junior Hockey

·         GPA minimum 70%

·         Must be enrolled in full time or part time studies.

Timeline:  All applications must be completed and turned in to the NASA office no later than May 15 each year.  Note date for submission has been extended to June 1, 2010.

Send completed application and all required documents to the address below.  Applications received without all required documents will be considered incomplete and will not be considered for the scholarship for that year.

·         Provide High School Transcripts and Proof of Graduation

·         Proof of enrollment and acceptance at a Post Secondary School

·         Submit a one page biography of not more that 250 words which could include your contributions to NASA Hockey, family information, scholastic achievements, sports achievements, career intentions, hobbies, volunteer activities and any other information you would like to share

·         Provide two letters of reference from a teacher, coach, NASA Member or employer.

·         Cheques will be made payable to the Post Secondary Institution and not the recipient.
